TITAN, FAVORIT and AUBI require different part checks

The official SIEGENIA catalogue distinguishes TITAN, FAVORIT and AUBI repair components. AUBI and FAVORIT gearbox repair kits are different. A manufacturer name alone is insufficient to order the right part.

We check markings on the gearbox strip, stay and hinges. Opening direction, hardware axis and sash size range affect selection. A full-strip photograph helps establish connections with the remaining mechanism.

Drive failure or a sash that has moved?

The handle may turn without moving the locking points. Alternatively, it may stop because an otherwise sound cam meets a misaligned keep. We distinguish these situations during inspection, checking perimeter connections, stay operation and the condition and fixing of the hinge side.

  • Incorrect opening movement: examine the mishandling device and stay engagement.
  • Handle turns without locking: check spindle, gearbox and connected components.
  • Sash drops or rubs: inspect supports, fixings and overall geometry.

A repair must work with the remaining hardware

Options include adjustment of sound components, maintenance or replacement of an identified damaged part. A manufacturer catalogue listing does not mean that the part fits every window or is immediately available. Compatibility and supply are checked before the final repair proposal.

For older windows we also assess adjoining connections. A gearbox replacement must work with the remaining components. If a wider repair is required, we explain why and agree it first. Finally, we check locking and all available opening modes.

Can older AUBI hardware still be repaired?

Repair components are catalogued for certain AUBI mechanisms. Whether one can be used depends on the exact part, window condition and availability.

Do TITAN and FAVORIT use identical replacements?

We do not select them interchangeably on the manufacturer name alone. The family, part identification, dimensions and connections must be checked.

Does a freely turning handle mean a failed gearbox?

That is one possible cause. We also check the handle fixing, spindle and movement transmitted to the other hardware components.

Is a photograph of the bottom hinge enough?

It is useful, but the strip markings and upper components are usually also needed. The full identification is confirmed during inspection.
