The profile and the hardware are separate systems
Winkhaus, Roto, SIEGENIA, MACO and GU manufacture hardware systems. VEKA and REHAU are PVC profile-system brands. A window using one of these profiles may contain another company’s hardware, and a handle name need not identify the full mechanism.
Replacing a gearbox or hinge requires the actual system and version to be identified. Choosing a seal also involves its cross-section and how it fits the profile groove.
What information helps identify your window
Useful marks may appear on the metal strip along the sash edge, near a hinge or on a window label. Documents from the window fabricator can also help. Do not dismantle working components just to look for a number.
- A photo of the complete window or door, showing the material and opening type.
- Close-ups of accessible markings and the affected component.
- A short description of what stops working, in which position and since when.
Compatibility matters more than a similar appearance
Different hardware generations can use different connections, mounting points and application limits. A similar-looking part is not proof of compatibility. We check the marking, handing, dimensions and adjoining components.
If the original component is unavailable, we assess possible alternatives and explain any wider changes required. Availability and compatibility are confirmed before ordering.
