What does the VEKA name tell us?

VEKA supplies profile systems that different companies use to manufacture windows. The frame name does not identify every component or the finished-window manufacturer. Hardware needs separate identification before replacement parts are selected.

Keep any purchase documents or window labels. Photograph the whole window, accessible profile markings and the metal strip on the open sash edge. There is no need to dismantle anything.

Finding the cause of draughts and difficult closing

For a catching sash, we check its position, hinges and locking points. For a draught, we inspect seals and locate the air path. A gap around the frame-to-wall joint requires a different response from a damaged sash gasket.

  • Stiff handle: check the mechanism and sash alignment.
  • Sash rubbing on the frame: assess geometry and adjustment options.
  • Hard or damaged gasket: identify its section and how it fits.

Correct seals and glazing for the actual window

A gasket must suit the actual groove, location and profile version. Frame and sash seals may differ. Increasing closing pressure cannot replace a correctly matched seal.

Moisture between panes calls for assessment of the insulated glass unit. Hardware adjustment cannot restore a failed glazing seal. Before replacement, we establish dimensions, thickness and glass specification and inspect the unit's support.

No. Windows made with VEKA profiles can use different hardware systems. We check the mechanism's markings and version before selecting components.

Can I book an inspection without knowing the profile series?

Yes. Photographs and a description are a useful starting point. Exact identification may require an on-site inspection.

Will new gaskets always stop a draught?

No. The air may enter at the sash or around the installation joint. We locate the cause before proposing gasket replacement.
